Biography

Since making their Royal Albert Hall debut in 2016, Scottish – Egyptian sisters Sarah and Laura Ayoub have had a meteoric start to their career.

Discovered by Mark Ronson; the multi-instrumentalist sisters recorded their debut album with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the world-renowned Abbey Road Studios. Their album, released with Decca Records in partnership with Classic FM, debuted at No.1 in the Official Classical Artist Albums Chart.

The duo have performed across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia with highlights including appearances at the Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium, The Cairo Opera House and Dubai Opera. The sisters have performed as soloists with some of the world’s leading orchestras including collaborations with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera Orchestra and Cairo Symphony Orchestra. The duo performed the Egyptian National Anthem at the closing ceremony of the World Youth Forum held in Sharm el Sheikh and were also recipients of the WYF award, which was presented by H.E President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, 2018.

The multi-award winning sisters are no strangers to radio or television. Having made their TV debut performing their own arrangement of George Michael's 'Mother's Pride' Live at the 2017 BAFTAs; they later went on to perform at the "Last Night of the Proms", Live on BBC 1 at Proms in the Park Glasgow, 2018. They have appeared on the BBC Big Sing, BBC Songs of Praise and performed live on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. 2019 saw The Ayoub Sisters make their Canadian debut, performing at the 20th annual "Festival du Monde Arabe de Montréal".

Classic Brit and Global Award nominees; Infinitime Music, Young Scot Award, WYF and Arab Women of the Year 2019 winners, The Ayoub Sisters are fast becoming the sound and faces of a truly exciting new generation of classical and crossover artists.

Laura is playing on a 1810 J.Gagliano violin which is kindly loaned to her by Florian Leonhard.
